Today I want to honor the moments that led up to the opening of Shadow Parade—the countless small pieces in time that had to align for this moment in my life to happen. The exhibition is now alive. The work is out in the world. Very official, in a gallery and all… but these photos aren’t glamorous or staged on white walls. They’re messy, straight from my camera roll. What remains for me is a collection of memories—and a bunch of photos I tried to remember to take, just so I could look back and hold on to those little moments that made it all worth it.
