Life Lines no. 13
My permanent exhibition in Monterrey is opening soon!! 🇲🇽
Lately, I’ve been saying to myself and to people around me, “This will also pass.” Some days feel very heavy (with the news an all), but the next day you find joy in the most unexpected places. Accepting that everything is temporary can be a relief in times of challenge or sorrow, but it can also be a reason to feel grateful when moments of joy and excitement come.
I used to hear this phrase a lot back home when I was a kid. My mom learned early in her life that it’s best to accept this universal truth, and I’m glad she taught me that. I find it incredibly useful because it reminds me that what really matters most is this moment. This moment, full of everything, will also pass. And that’s the beauty of it.
A reminder like this makes the present feel a little more precious. 😀
My permanent exhibition in Monterrey, México is opening soon!! 🇲🇽
It is with great pride and a heart full of joy that I share the news of my permanent exhibition Dream Structures in my hometown, Monterrey, México. The installation opens Sunday, October 19 at 5:00 pm at Cuauhtémoc Station on Line 2 of the Monterrey Metro and will be part of the Festival Internacional de Santa Lucía 2025.
Dream Structures was born from a simple yet profound idea: every line, every movement, every action we take, even the most ordinary, becomes a step toward what we long for. These fragments slowly begin to shape the structure of our dreams.
This project carries special meaning for me. I was born in this city and passed through Cuauhtémoc Station many times in my past. I stood on that platform on my way to university, to work, or to meet friends. I looked at this wall without really seeing it, often lost in daydreams. I never imagined that one day it would be here, in this very station, where a new dream would take form. For me, this exhibition closes one circle and opens another, and for that I am immensely grateful.
Consisting of a mural and ten new large-scale works, the installation transforms Cuauhtémoc Station into a space for reflection, pause, and imagination. Each piece works like a dream map that reveals our inner landscapes. Words such as “alegría,” “norte fuerte,” “sueños,” and “Monterrey” are hidden within the lines and curves, turning the invisible and the ordinary into something possible and inspiring. My hope is that these works remind the passengers passing by that imagination is a deeply powerful act that can happen anywhere and should live with us at all times.
This exhibition celebrates the pride of being from Monterrey, the power of imagination, art as a spark of inspiration in daily life, and the idea that with a single moment of attention, we can transform our day.
My deepest thanks go to the entire Festival team, who work tirelessly to bring art and culture to the north of México. 🙏
The Mural Initiative Denver Edition starts this week!
Just days away from kicking off the Fall 2025 season of the Initiative, we will be working with four schools this time and it is going to be super special! This season is especially meaningful because it marks the project’s expansion into Colorado. Carson Elementary will be the very first school here to take part, and I could not be more excited. It feels incredible to finally bring this project into my own community!
A Special Gift For You!
And before we go… I want to celebrate one year of this newsletter that truly would not exist without you! To mark the occasion, the first three people to reply to this email with a simple “hi,” an emoji, or anything at all will receive a free piece from The Moonletters series.

Hey Charlo! So cool you are opening a gallery in Monterey. Gotta be surreal for you. It’s inspiring to see you fulfill your dreams.
And I agree, this will also pass. It’s a comforting thought.
